Temporary Root Filling

Temporary root canal fillings and intracanal medicaments, including calcium hydroxide pastes and powders with and without iodoform. Placed between endodontic visits to disinfect the canal and control symptoms until final obturation.

Calcium hydroxide has a high pH that kills bacteria and dissolves remaining tissue. Iodoform adds radiopacity and a longer antibacterial effect, which is useful in primary teeth and infected canals.

Fill the canal to working length, seal the access cavity well, and rinse the paste out completely before final obturation.
