Zygomatic and basal implants anchor in dense bone far from the crest, which needs long, rigid drills that stay on the planned path. Careful planning on a CBCT scan is essential for these protocols.

Use generous irrigation and low speed, and withdraw the drill regularly to clear debris and limit heat.
