Impression Materials

Impression materials for crowns, bridges, implants and dentures, including vinyl polysiloxane putty and wash, polyether, alginate, bite registration materials and gingival retraction cord. An accurate impression is the starting point for a restoration that fits without adjustment.

VPS is dimensionally stable and can be poured more than once, which makes it the standard choice for fixed prosthodontics. Polyether flows well in a moist field and is often used for implant impressions. Alginate is quick and inexpensive for study models and opposing arches.

Tissue management matters as much as the material. Retraction cord or paste opens the sulcus so the margins are captured clearly.
