Apex Locators

Electronic apex locators for measuring working length during root canal treatment, including LCD chairside units from Woodpecker and Forumtec and a Bluetooth model. They show in real time how close the file is to the apex.

Modern multi-frequency apex locators are accurate in wet canals and reduce the number of radiographs needed. Working length should still be confirmed with at least one radiograph.

Keep the lip clip and file holder clean, and avoid contact between the file and metal restorations, which can give a false reading.
