Description
DSI Sponge is manufactured from highly purified first-extract grade gelatine collagen material. They are made to aid in providing hemostasis. They may be used either dry or moist.
These sponges are manufactured from hydrolyzed collagen (gelatine) imported from Germany. Due to its ability to absorb blood up to 40 times its weight, this pharmaceutical gelatin effectively helps the wound to stop bleeding. The sponges may be combined with antibiotics, Thrombin, and chemotherapeutics without reducing the sponge's hemostatic effect. The porous structure of the sponges stops the bleeding, absorbs the wound secretions, and effectively helps the wound to start healing. Completely absorbed in 2 weeks.
Indications:
- Dento-alveolar surgery and extraction of teeth in patients with risk of hemorrhage.
- Regeneration of mucosal tissues removal of mandibular cysts.
- Surgical removal of oral tumors and leucoplakias.
- Surgical treatment of periapical and dental abscesses.
- Maxillo-facial surgery.
- Can be used to stop bleeding during bone harvesting from the iliac crest by filling the donor site.
