Torque control is the main reason to invest in good tools. An under-tightened abutment screw is the usual cause of loosening, while over-tightening can stretch or break the screw. A calibrated torque wrench or electronic driver takes the guesswork out of both.

Driver tips wear with use. Replace them when the fit in the screw head feels loose, because a worn tip can strip a screw and turn a simple visit into a retrieval.
