Finishing & Polishing

Finishing and polishing products for direct and indirect restorations, including silicone polishers, diamond polishing pastes and finishing discs. A well polished restoration looks better, collects less plaque and stain, and causes less wear on the opposing tooth, so this last step is worth doing properly.

Finishing removes excess material and refines the anatomy, and polishing then brings the surface to a smooth gloss. Discs work best on accessible convex surfaces, while points and cups reach occlusal and interproximal areas.

Composite, ceramic and zirconia each have their own polishing systems. Use a paste or polisher matched to the material and follow a coarse to fine sequence.
