Endodontic Consumables

The consumable side of endodontics: hand files and broaches, gutta percha and paper points, irrigation and canal prep solutions, sealers and cements, intracanal medicaments, temporary filling materials and posts for the build up after treatment. These are the items used up case by case, so they are the ones worth keeping in stock.

Files, points and sealers are bought by size and length, and running out of one size mid-case is what holds a treatment up. Mani stainless steel K-files and Hedstrom files come in 21mm, 25mm and 31mm, and gutta percha is stocked in standardized and taper-matched sizes.

Irrigation and dressing materials cover the disinfection stage: EDTA for smear layer removal, calcium hydroxide for intracanal dressing, and MTA and bioceramic cements for repair and pulp capping. For motors, apex locators and obturation units, see Endodontic Equipment.
